Mention Alpina to a BMW aficionado and you’ll likely get the sort of nod of recognition that only comes from true enthusiasts. The tuning company may have been a long-standing partner of the Bavarian automaker, but its vehicles are still a rarity on US roads. Strictly limited production numbers help keep exclusivity levels high.
Joining that club is the 2022 Alpina B8 Gran Coupé. Based on the BMW 8 Series 4-door, it packs a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with exclusive tuning, styling, and cabin trim, to make something even more special. 612 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque mean 0-60 mph arrives in 3.3 seconds, while top speed is 201 mph.
Outside, there are exclusive 21-inch Alpina wheels to go with the special blue and green paint options. Inside, there’s special wood trim and other detailing, plus a high level of standard equipment. Deliveries kick off in the US in late spring 2021, with pricing from $139,900 (plus $995 destination).
