The smallest member of Audi’s all-electric family, the 2022 Audi Q4 e-tron, promises to be a big deal despite its relatively compact dimensions. Based on VW Group’s MEB platform for all-electric vehicles, it’s a compact crossover SUV that should also have a relatively compact price tag, when it arrives in the US later in 2021. However, that doesn’t mean you sacrifice on tech or performance.
All-wheel drive is expected, using twin electric motors for Audi’s famed quattro system. Inside, there’ll be a new augmented reality head-up display available, capable of showing distance-dependent information. Audi, for instance, will be able to float upcoming navigation directions on top of the next turn.
The rest of the cabin is a mixture of familiar and new, with Audi’s virtual cockpit system and a push-button transmission system. A new steering wheel with redesigned touch controls is onboard as well. Audi will also offer various different cabin materials, from the traditional leather to modern textiles for those who want to go animal-free.
