2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe Gallery

Is it a coupe, or an SUV, or something in-between? Really, quantifying the 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe doesn't really matter: what's important is that tuning division AMG has given it a beefy 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine. That borrows some crafty 48-volt EQ Boost technology for 603 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.

0-60 mph arrives in a mere 3.7 seconds, while top speed is an electronically-limited 174 mph. It looks the part, too, the sloping roofline paired with AMG-specific grille, 22-inch wheels, chrome and black trim, and some fluted tailpipes at the rear. Alternatively there's an AMG Night Package to give the SUV an even more ominous look.

AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive is standard, along with a 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT transmission, AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension, and six different drive modes from Comfort, through Sport, to RACE, and finally off-road settings. Inside, though, it's all luxury, though the AMG sports seats and special nappa leather are a nice touch. Expect it at US dealers in fall 2020.
