2021 Genesis GV80 Gallery

Genesis may be lagging behind luxury rivals when it comes to plus SUVs, but the 2021 GV80 suggests it may have been worth the wait. Arriving in the US in summer 2020, the new GV80 borrows most of the striking styling from the GV80 Concept of 2017, including the oversized grille and slit-like lamps. It combines those with bold lines and the option of up to 22-inch wheels.

Inside, it's a calmer, cleaner place than some SUV cabins we've seen. Genesis keeps the switchgear to a functional minimum, preferring to put most of the detail on the GV80's trio of screens. That includes digital graphics for the driver, a small screen for HVAC controls, and then a huge 14.5-inch widescreen panel atop the dashboard. That's remotely controlled using a handwriting-recognizing dial in the center console.

For the US, there'll be two engines: a 2.5-liter turbocharged gas engine, and a larger 3.5-liter version. Rear-wheel drive will be standard, as will an 8-speed automatic transmission; all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential will be optional. Pricing will be confirmed closer to launch.
