As classic nameplates go, the BMW M5 takes some beating. That's why anticipation was high ahead of the 2021 M5, and sure enough the newly-updated model should check off a few enthusiast boxes. New styling front and rear, new tech inside, and dynamic updates help give the sports sedan its edge.

There'll be M5 and M5 Competition models, with pricing starting at $103,500 and $111,100 (plus $995 destination) respectively. The 2021 M5 Competition gets new shock absorbers and a new damper control system, along with a Track mode and new M Mode button.

Inside, there's a new, larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto support, and cloud-based navigation. There's also a new Full Merino Leather black interior, with Midrand Beige Alcantara. Outside, there are new high-gloss black or red finishes for the standard compound brake calipers. Expect the new 2021 M5 to arrive in dealerships globally from August 2020.
