2020 Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition Gallery

If there was one complaint about the Range Rover Velar, it was engine envy. The midsize luxury SUV certainly looks the part, with its pop-out door handles, streamlined styling, and tapering roofline. Enough, indeed, to make the larger Range Rover and Range Rover Sport look a little fussy.

The interior was up to scratch, too, with Land Rover's twin-touchscreen infotainment system and plenty of leather and metal. No, the problem was always under the hood: while the supercharged V6 was decent enough, we couldn't help but glance enviously at the V8 in the larger SUVs. Now, we don't have to.

The 2020 Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition turfs out the V6 in favor of a supercharged 5.0-liter V8. That packs 550 horsepower and 502 lb-ft of torque, good for 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and a 170 mph electronically-limited top speed. New styling outside, and a more luxurious interior round things out; it's just a shame this is a one-year-only limited edition.
