2020 MINI John Cooper Works GP Gallery

Small but spunky, that's the idea behind the 2020 MINI John Cooper Works GP. Based on the MINI 3-door, the new compact coaxes 306 horsepower out of its 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. That may not sound like a crazy number, but when you're working with such a small car it means 0-62 mph in 5.2 seconds.

Straight line speed isn't the real point here, mind. While this may be the most powerful engine yet in a MINI, it's really all about the cornering. There's a unique chassis design and set-up, iht the suspension lowered by 10 mm as compared to the MINI John Cooper Works. It also gets a high-performance sports brake system.

Throw in a 8-speed Steptronic transmission and a mechanical differential lock, and you have a very entertaining MINI indeed. It'll be limited as to just who can enjoy it, mind. There are only two seats inside, and only 3,000 of the cars will be produced from March 2020.
