2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA Gallery

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA has been revealed, and rather than bring it to a traditional motor show the automaker elected to use CES 2019 instead. That's a reflection of just how tech-savvy the second-generation CLA is, after all. Taking the four-door coupe design language of its predecessor and cranking it up to newly-sinuous heights, it certainly looks the part.

The steeply raked grille and bulging hood leave you with no confusion about it being a performance car. The launch CLA 250 and CLA 250 4MATIC get new 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo engines, with 221 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. 4MATIC models get all-wheel drive, and all use a 7G-DCT dual-clutch transmission.

The tech, though, is primarily found inside. Like the 2019 A-Class, the new CLA uses the Mercedes-Benz User Experience, or MBUX, complete with twin 7-inch freestanding displays, voice control, and now gesture recognition. It'll arrive in US dealerships in late 2019.
