2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Gallery

Hyundai has a new hybrid, and it's ready to bask in the sun and maybe even save you a little extra money that way. The 2020 Sonata Hybrid pairs a 2.0-liter gas engine with an electric motor, for 192 horsepower and the ability to drive up to 686 miles on a full tank of gas and a full battery. EPA estimated economy numbers are up to 52 mpg combined, 50 mpg in the city, and 54 mpg on the highway.

Helping the new Sonata Hybrid stand out is the Solar Roof System option. Offered on the top-spec Limited trim, it integrates a 205 watt solar panel array into the glass roof. That's enough to add about 2 miles of range a day, weather depending, Hyundai says, or to keep the HVAC or infotainment system running even with the car turned off.

Options include heated and ventilated front seats, the ability to use your smartphone as a key, and Hyundai's Highway Driving Assist package. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard. It'll arrive in US dealerships from June 2020.
