2020 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe Gallery

BMW's 8 Series has spawned its next variants, with the 2020 8 Series Gran Coupe adding a pair of rear doors to the shapely grand tourer. The 2020 840i Gran Coupe, 2020 840i xDrive Gran Coupe, and 2020 M850i xDrive Gran Coupe are more than just four-door versions of their Coupe cousins, however. They get wider, longer, taller bodies, to make sure interior space isn't in short supply.

The 840i cars have BMW's TwinPower 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder turbo engine, tuned for 335 hp between 5,000-6,500 rpm, and 386 lb-ft of torque between 1,600-4,500 rpm. 0-60 mph comes in 4.9 seconds for the RWD car, or 4.6 seconds for the AWD. An 8-speed transmission is standard.

As for the 2020 M850i xDrive Gran Coupe, that has a TwinPower 4.4-liter eight-cylinder Turbo, with 523 hp between 5,500-6,000 rpm, and 553 lb-ft of torque between 1,800-4,600 rpm. It's good for 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds, along with a top speed is up to 155 mph with performance tires. They'll arrive in the US in September 2019.
