2019 Hyundai Elantra Gallery

Hyundai has a new Elantra sedan, and for the 2019 model year the focus is on making the four-door more memorable. Redesigned with crisper styling, the new Elantra also gets a host of new safety and convenience technology. Lane keep assistance, forward collision avoidance assistance, and driver attention monitoring will be standard on most trims, while blind spot assist will be offered on top-spec cars.

Initially there'll be two engines. The bulk of the range will get a 2.0-liter with 147 horsepower, while the Elantra Eco will trade that for a more miserly 1.4-liter with 128 horsepower. Hyundai says that's expected to get up to 35 mpg in the EPA's combined rating.

Later in the year, meanwhile, there'll be an Elantra Sport, with a different engine and more aggressive design. That will offer a manual transmission as standard, with a dual-clutch automatic with paddle-shifters an option.
