Bentley's Bentayga pushed all the dials to eleven when it launched in 2015. The brand's ostentatious SUV didn't just make bold promises with its uncompromising aesthetic, but performance ones too. Credit the 6.0-liter W12 engine for that.

Now, there's a second option. The 2019 Bentayga V8 sacrifices four cylinders and two liters of displacement, but in the process saves on weight and, vitally, price. No Bentley is ever going to be "cheap" but, with a $167k starting price, the Bentayga V8 is within reach of those who might previously have looked to a Range Rover Autobiography.

In return, the Porsche-developed, Bentley-retuned engine musters 542 horsepower and a 0-60 mph run in 4.4 seconds. Top speed is 180 mph, a mere 7 mph sacrifice over the W12.
