2018 GMC Terrain Gallery

GMC might be more familiar to those looking for a new truck, but GM's "other" brand is hoping to find a market among small SUV buyers, too. The 2018 GMC Terrain is how it plans to do that, taking on rivals like Toyota's RAV4 and Ford's Escape. On the outside, the design has dropped the blockiness and adopted some subtly handsome curves so as to look less out of place in the mall parking lot.

Inside, meanwhile, there's plenty of cargo space, including the ability to haul long items by dropping down the front passenger seat. The GMC IntelliLink infotainment system has been reworked, and the dashboard is dressed in new metal-effect trim. Gone is the old gear selector system, replaced by buttons.

As for performance, GMC will have a trio of engines to choose between. Top spec is a 2.0-liter turbo gas engine, but there'll also be a 1.5-liter turbo and a 1.6-liter turbodiesel.
