As luxury sedans go, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a big deal. Now in its tenth generation, not to mention the most cosseting iteration to-date, the new sedan makes its official debut at the North American International Auto Show 2016.

On the outside, hints of the S-Class are clear. It's longer than the outgoing E-Class, with the wheelbase stretched by 2.6-inches. "Luxury" spec models will have a classic grille with the traditional Mercedes star mounted on the hood, while "Sport" versions shift the logo into the center of a bolder sports grille.

Inside, a vast 12.3-inch display dominates the dashboard, while leather, wood, and aluminum abound. Touch-sensitive controls on the steering wheel allow all of the functions to be managed without moving your hands away from the driving.
