2017 Mercedes-AMG E43 Sedan Gallery

One of nine Mercedes-AMG cars in the automaker's line-up, the 2017 E43 Sedan takes the E300 and gives it a performance makeover. The 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engine has new turbochargers and updated software, for 396 HP and 384 lb-ft. of torque, while the 9-speed transmission supports double-declutching on downshifts. AMG's engineers have worked over the 4MATIC all-wheel drive, too.

Under the body kit there's a new AMG RIDE CONTROL sport suspension system, with air body control and three-stage adjustable dampers. Flip between the five AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes, and there are choices from Eco and Comfort through to Sport and Sport+, along with a driver-customizable Individual mode. Torque is generally pushed to the rear, but can be adjusted depending on handling needs.

Inside, the dual-display dashboard is standard-fit, unlike in the E300, and there's dual-zone climate control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and wireless charging. A Burmester 3D surround sound audio system is optional, as is adaptive cruise control. Pricing kicks off at $72,400.
