2017 Land Rover Discovery Gallery

The 2017 Land Rover Discovery replaces last year's LR4 seven-passenger SUV with an all-new, unibody design that is lighter, quicker, and more comfortable to drive. It also boasts dramatically different styling that preserves elements of the LR4's old school profile while fully modernizing the look of the sport-utility vehicle.

The Discovery carries over the LR4's supercharged 3.0-liter V6, which produces 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. A new turbodiesel V6 joins the party, bringing excellent fuel economy (23-mpg combined) along with 254 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard across the board, as is four-wheel drive (with the option of low-range gearing).

The Land Rover Discovery is marketed as a family-friendly commuter, but it's also extremely capable off-road and boasts the latest in go-anywhere technologies. These include the Terrain Select 2 system, hill descent control and crawl control, as well as an air suspension system that can raise and lower the truck to deal with obstacles on the trail.
