2016 Audi A3 2.0T quattro Gallery

Audi's smallest sedan could be seen as a cynical push to encourage new drivers in through the German marque's showroom doors, but throw in the 2.0 TFSI engine and you start to get a different picture. The same powerplant as in the Audi TT, it turns the A3 into a punchy, perky little A4 alternative.

The bigger A4 will always have the cachet, but the A3 is surprisingly practical, not to mention handsomely – and fairly timelessly – designed. Watch out for that price tag, however, as the numbers can quickly spiral upward if you get too enthusiastic with Audi's price list.
