Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock - For the PC and Mac!

Anyone that reads SlashGear very often will probably have figured out that I'm a huge Guitar Hero fan. One of the things that has disappointed me about the series is the lack of support for the PC (and Mac). While I do have an Xbox 360 which can play Guitar Hero II and the upcoming Guitar Hero III, I still would love to play it on my gaming rig. It looks like I may finally have that opportunity with Guitar Hero III.

According to the guys at Aspyr which is the developer for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, they have decided to bring it to both the PC and Mac, because they feel they can reach a greater audience, since everyone has a computer.

The game will be a direct port of the Xbox 360 version, though it may be shipped with a different USB controller. If you so desire, there will be a mode that allows you to play with your keyboard and mouse, similar to the Frets on Fire project, though I never much cared for using my keyboard. They're shooting for the same launch date as the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, though that may change as time goes on.
