Great Scott! Amazon Prime Video snags Back to the Future trilogy

Amazon has announced that during the month of October, the entire Back to the Future trilogy will be available for streaming on Prime Video. Starting Thursday, Amazon Prime subscribers will have unlimited access to watch Back to the Future Part I, Part II, and Part III, marking the first time the classic trilogy has been streamable in its entirety.

Of course, the significance of this October hasn't been lost on Amazon, as this year not only marks the 30th anniversary of the original Back to the Future, but October 21, 2015 is exact date that Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) travels to in the future in Back to the Future II. That was when we got to see flying cars, 3D holograms, and, most iconic of all, hoverboards.

The first film in the trilogy is recognized by IMDB as one of the Top 50 movies of all time. The series takes place in 1985, and sees Marty and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) travel back to 1955, then to 2015, and finally all the way back to 1855. See the two heroes in action again, it's easy to see how they served as the inspiration for the popular animated show Rick and Morty.

Once fans and newcomers have experienced the classic movies, it might be time to consider checking out the official BTTF game from developer Telltale Games. The title is coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this month as well, and collects all five episodes of the original 2010 release. The game featured involvement from the original movies' writer and producer, cast members, and picks up the story six months after BTTF Part III ended.
