Google+ scores HDR Scape and Zoom for photographs

Google has slowly but steadily evolving Google+'s photography-centric features, the latest of which includes two much-anticipated additions: HDR Scape, which brings single-click tone mapping to images via Google+ on the Web, and Zoom, which is exactly what it sounds like.

HDR Scape has arrived on Google+ on the Web with this latest update, which was announced by Andre Meyer on his own Google+ today. With HDR Scape comes the ability to apply popular high dynamic range — more commonly called HDR — effects to images. The effects can be applied with a single click, though manual adjustment is also possible.

Accompanying this feature update is the addition of Zoom, which is a zoom tool that allows users to get up close and personal with their photographs. It's a simple yet important tool for many, allowing photographers to check out their image's quality and alterations at the pixel level, rather than trying to estimate based on the full-screen version of the image.

As with most of these updates, the changes are rolling out in batches, so you might not yet be seeing the new features on your own account. If you've been graced with the update, however, you'll find the new features by opening one of your Google+ images and click "Edit".
