Google Play Movies & TV for iOS launches in App Store

Following the launch of the Google Play Music app for iOS in November, the company has expanded that push into Apple's playground, announcing today on Google+ the availability of Google Play Movies & TV for iOS. The app was released today, and can be nabbed straight from the App Store by those running iOS 6 or higher. With the launch comes Google's massive library of movies and TV shows, bringing another option for viewing new and old media alike on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. At the moment, the app only allows for streaming over a wireless Internet connection, and television shows are only available to users located the United States, United Kingdom, and Japan, while the app itself is available in Russian, Spanish, and a handful of other languages. Those who download the app will need to use their computer to access the Play Store and download rent or buy the desired content, which can then be watched via their preferred Apple mobile device. Beyond that, and twice as better, is the new Chromecast ability users will get with the launch of the app. Those who have Google's media-centric dongle can stream their purchased content from their iPad or iPhone to watch on the big screen. Though there are a few limitations — the current need for WiFi to stream movies, the inability to buy content straight from the app — it's a happy occasion for those who want access to Google's library of content from the comfort of their Apple device.SOURCE: Google+ and App Store
