Good Technology takes security seriously with Good for Government

With all the hacking attacks that have been, going on over the past few months it's no surprise that security is at the forefront for some enterprise providers. Good Technology is a widely used multiplatform enterprise mobility offering and the company uses the data it gathers on devices to give us an idea how platforms are doing frequently. Earlier this month Good offered some details on the number of iPads in the enterprise compared to Android tablets.

Good Technology has announced a new more secure platform for government called Good for Government. The new platform is for iOS devices and claims to be the only security, device management, mobile e-mail, and application solution designed to meet DoD Directive Number 8100.2. The software also meets Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD 12). Good uses a FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic module in the software.

That module uses AES encryption and the suite supports different types of security used across the government and integrates with Bluetooth smartcard readers from the NSA and other security devices. The software allows administrators to block access from jailbroken devices and can remotely wide data on a smartphone if the device is lost or stolen.
