Get an Xbox 360 When You Buy a Windows Phone 7 Handset, in Austria

With the official launch of Windows Phone 7 on carriers just around the corner, it's not surprising to see Microsoft doing what they can to get a few more customers lining up in front of carrier locations across the globe. If you happen to be in Austria on October 21st, the day that Windows Phone 7 is set to launch for the carrier, and you don't mind having a phone on the Austrian carrier's network, you may be able to land yourself a brand new Xbox 360 with your purchase.

Microsoft has teamed up with Austrian carrier A1 to bring the consoles into retail locations only, and the special event will only go on for as long as there are Xbox 360s to hand out. The 360 isn't the 250GB model, but the slightly newer 4GB model, which comes in a matte black color, and not the shiny version. The deal is that you have to get your phone from an A1 retail location, and it has to happen on October 21st. With the whole "while supplies last" thing going on, there's probably going to be at least a few people waiting in line. Plus, there's no way of telling how many consoles the retail locations will have.

The Austrian carrier will launch Windows Phone 7 with the HTC 7 Trophy, the HTC HD7 and the Samsung Omnia 7, so at least you have a few choices. But, if you still feel like going into the store isn't what you want to do, you can pre-order one of the devices through A1's online store, which will get your named dropped into a raffle to win one of the Xbox 360 consoles.
