Gen Con or Bust!

Ever since E3 announced last year that they would no longer be putting on the large-scale show that we've all known and loved,  we have all been searching for someone to fill that void. Gen Con has decided to step up and allow developers and publishers of electronic games to set up shop at their show. This is big because for the past 40 years, Gen Con has been all about the non-electronic games. If you can't make it, don't worry. We'll be right there bringing you a first-hand look at everything Gen Con 2007 has to offer.

Fellow Editor Abby McVay and myself will be traveling to Indianapolis for the 4-day show to check out what companies such as EA, Blizzard, Atari, Eidos and Fallen Earth have to offer. For those of you that have been to the shows before, you'll likely know that people are generally encouraged to dress up as their favorite fictional character. Don't get your hopes up, as neither of us have had an opportunity to prepare a costume for the show, so you won't be seeing Abby dressed up as Princess Leia.

Icarus Studios has recently announced that they will be debuting their new MMOG Fallen Earth at the show, which should be exciting. Eidos has also said that they will be showing off Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, and EA Mythic is looking to show off Warhammer during the event. I'm sure that many other great games will be showcased, so be sure to stop by while the show is going on August 16-19.

If any of you guys are going to be attending Gen Con this year, we'd love to meet up. It's always great to see readers when we're out at some of the shows. You're welcome to head over to the forums and let me know what day(s) you'll be attending. Hope to see you there!
