Gears of War Ultimate Edition, Killer Instinct to land on PCs

E3 2015 naturally has a lot of great tidings for those on Xboxes and PlayStations, but the PC crowd need not feel left out too much. Although Microsoft still touts its Xbox One as *the* gaming device, its unifying spiel of Windows 10 is trickling into gaming aspects as well. Yep, the recently confirmed Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will also be landing on Windows PCs, giving gamers a chance to enjoy all that shooting action in all its high res and high fps beauty.

Formerly leaked as Gears of War Remastered, Microsoft fully took off the veils at E3 and gave it a different "Ultimate Edition" name. Although expected for the Xbox One, Rod Ferguson from game developer Coalition made the surprise reveal that this Gear of Wars version will also be coming to PCs. There it would support 4K resolution output and take advantage of the latest DirectX 12 that will debut with Windows 10.

Sure, it might not be the same as actually getting a completely new Gears of War title for PCs, but it might actually just be the start. Ferguson also hinted that the new Gears of War 4 might possibly also experience a PC port some time in the future. "Possibly" and "in the future", doesn't really spark confidence, but one can still hope for better days.

In the mean time, one game that has jumped from possibility to reality is Killer Instinct. Xbox's Phil Spencer announced that this 2013 fighting game will also arrive on PCs. More than that, it will actually also support cross-platform play, allowing PC gamers to dish it out with those on an Xbox One. So far, no other game has yet to be announced with a similar feature.
