Garmin Legacy Saga Series smartwatches bring Darth Vader to your wrist
In addition to its new vivofit activity tracker for kids, Garmin has unveiled the Legacy Saga Series, a pair of smartwatches that feature Star Wars imagery including character insignias and digital elements. The designs come only months ahead of the Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker movie scheduled to arrive in theaters this December.
The Garmin Legacy Saga Series offers a number of features, including 24/7 health monitoring. This capability covers a variety of features, including Body Battery energy monitoring, sleep tracking with pulse oxygen measurements, alerts when abnormal heart rates are detected, stress and menstrual tracking, hydration tracking, breathing activities, and relaxation reminders, among other things.
These smartwatches also present different types of workouts on the display, provide access to more than 20 outdoor and indoor sports apps, give users access to the Garmin Connect IQ store, support downloading music from select services like Spotify, Incident Detection, contactless payments, smart notifications from a paired smartphone, and more.
The most notable aspects of these watches are the Star Wars themes, however. The Rey Special Edition Smartwatch sports the white leather band featured above paired with a silver bezel and Jedi insignia. The design is said to be symbolic of the lightsaber used by the character in the movie. As well, users get themed watch faces based on Rey, as well as themed goal animations and a companion app.
Similarly, the Darth Vader Special Edition Smartwatch features a black leather band with red stitching that mirrors his bright red lightsaber. The band has a gray nubuck leather interior, plus there's a dark slate bezel featuring details found in the character's TIE Advanced X1 cockpit, according to Garmin. The watch likewise packs themed watch faces, animations, badges, and other elements.
