Galaxy S9 Plus: All the Release Details before Samsung's event

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus were both been leaked to high heaven over the past few weeks – today we've packaged all the details up. In one big shiny package, here, we've got all the basics and a few bits and pieces about the Galaxy S9 that not all readers might know. RAM, storage sizes, and timing and all that – it's all here. Now, if only we could convince Samsung to make another Plus with a flat screen...

1. Reveal Date

The Samsung Galaxy S9 was rumored to be revealed or teased at CES 2018 by those that believed Samsung would break with tradition set over the past half-decade. That did not happen, of course, as Samsung is much more keen on showing their next hero smartphone at the largest mobile-specific convention event series in the world: Mobile World Congress. That begins in late February – and Samsung's event will likely take place on the 24th or the 25th.

2. Phone Names

Samsung is almost certainly going to release their next two phones with the names "Samsung Galaxy S9" and Samsung Galaxy S9+", but we like to use the full word "plus" because it's a lot clearer in search engines. Basically every search engine in the world uses the "+" symbol to connect two terms in a search query, while the word "plus" remains its own term. Google sees Galaxy S9+ as Galaxy S9+[did you forget the other term, or what?]

Some Confirmation and Tease

Samsung confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be revealed at Mobile World Congress 2018 whilst at CES 2018 this week. At CES, Samsung revealed... refrigerators and such. The key take-home we got from Samsung at CES 2018 with regard to mobile devices was that Bixby is here to stay. Bixby isn't just for Galaxy mobile devices, she's here for ALL of Samsung's "smart" devices, well into the future.

Deeper Details

Samsung revealed their newest chipset – in the Exynos 9 family, the 9810 to be specific. We have a lovely analyzation of the Galaxy S9's chips for you to take a perusal of right this minute.

We've also got a last-minute tip on the sizes and variants of the Samsung Galaxy S9 in the mix. Much like previous launches, there'll be at least two versions of both the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus to choose from. As the collection leak suggests, we might even get an extra-large version of the Galaxy S9 Plus, too!

Manufacturers and S&D

For information on the manufacturers of the various parts that go into this next-gen device pair, head to our manufacturer update. With such a diverse array of manufacturers in such large numbers, it's difficult to imagine a world where Samsung isn't up to the task of brining the world as many Galaxy S9 units as they could possibly want to buy. I mean it'd be insane to think that supply of the Galaxy S9 would not be up to demand this Spring.

Release Date

We're expecting Samsung to reveal the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus at Mobile World Congress 2018 at a special event on the 24th or 25th of February, 2018. After that, chances are good we'll see the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus in stores by mid-march. Any later and we'll just have to sit in the corner and cry.
