Galaxy Note 7 (or 6) to not be flat, says Korean media

It's not only the iPhone 7 that's having a back and forth, he said she said rumor about a single feature. Like that elusive iPhone 7 headphone Jack, the flatness of the next Galaxy Note 6 or Note 7 has always been in question. Now sources for Korean news sites are claiming that Samsung has chosen, in the end, that there can only be one Galaxy Note 7 (or 6). And that will happen to have a dual curved edge screen, practically making it the a Galaxy Note 6 (or 7) edge, the first of its kind to sport this fancy type of screen.

The Galaxy Note Edge in 2014 was actually the first to have a curved front, but the design and implementation of that was significantly different from the new "edge" introduced last year. The 2014 model actually used a separate strip of display independent from the rest of the main screen. Plus, it only curved to one side, producing a rather awkward lopsided design.

In contrast, a Galaxy Note 6/7 edge would look sleeker and prettier. It would also have a more advanced, not to mention more updated, edge functionality. It would gain the benefits of the Galaxy S7 edge in terms of looks, features, and usability. But whether it will be sacrificing something in return, especially when it comes to what a Galaxy Note is designed for, remains to be seen.

Of course, this is just the latest round of conflicting rumors for Samsung's "Next Galaxy". Some might still be holding on to hope that it will be flat, or at least have two choices. What seems to be consistent, however, are most of the specs, like the 5.8-inch 2K screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 82X processors, and 6 GB of RAM.

We might not have to wait long to get to the truth. Rumor has it that Samsung will fire off production already next month, with an eye for a very early August announcement, with market launch to follow very closely, if not on the same day itself.
