Galaxy Note 7 leaked teaser wants you to write on the edge

It might have just gotten harder for Samsung to keep the public's eyes on its upcoming Galaxy Note 7 phablet. Unless it's keeping a secret and actually has a foldable Note smartphone prepped for later this year. That might happen until 2017, however, so Samsung will have to try its best to drag people back to present reality. Like with an alleged teaser image that will have you believe you'll want to write on the curved edge of the next Galaxy Note, whatever it's number will be.

Various sources and news outlets have already decided that Samsung will call it the Galaxy Note 7. Not because Apple will release the iPhone 7 around the same time, but because it wants to match the Galaxy S7. It's entirely by coincidence that both Samsung and Apple have flagships with the number "7" this year. That rumor might slightly be hinted by the bright aura surrounding the silhouette of the alleged smartphone. Or maybe it's just our imagination.

More curious is the slogan "write on the edge of something great". It's a play on words that fuels the belief that the Galaxy Noe 7 will indeed sport a curved edge screen like the Galaxy S7 edge, which might also confirm that there will be no Galaxy S7 edge+ this year.

While that might indeed be possible, what remains questionable is whether you will indeed be able to write on that edge as advertised. It's hard enough to write with a pen or pencil on a curved paper-like surface. Plastic on glass is going to be trickier. At the very least, it could just mean that you'll be able to use the S Pen stylus on the edge of the device, which shouldn't really be out of the ordinary. We'll definitely be on the look out for this particular feature.

Aside from that, the Galaxy Note 7 is expected to be one of the first, if not the first to run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 and Samsung's first to have 6 GB o RAM. The rest of the specs would be on par with the Galaxy S7, like the QHD screen an 12 megapixel main camera. Samsung usually announces a Galaxy Note every IFA in September, though there are rumors that Samsung will do it earlier again like it did for the Galaxy S7.
