Galaxy Note 6 leak tips 2x screen size potential

It would seem that though Samsung has reduced the number of headliner devices it's set to release this year, they might still have a dilemma on their hands. It's been suggested by insider sources who wish to remain anonymous that Samsung isn't just considering one version of the Galaxy Note 6 for this August of September. Instead, Samsung is said to be considering whether or not the device will come with a flat display, a curved-edge display, or two different sizes altogether. Could we return to the original Galaxy Note Edge?

The list of possibilities begin with a standard Samsung Galaxy Note 6 – one with a display that's not entirely unlike what we saw with the Galaxy Note 5 last year. Standard doesn't mean bad, in this case. People have come to expect a powerhouse of a smartphone in the Galaxy Note series, and not least of all in the hero line of Samsung's second-wave smartphone of the year for the past several years, they expect a solid, standard design.

With a curved rear, of course.

There's also the possibility of a Galaxy Note 6 Edge – a device with two edges curved down their sides, similar to what we've seen with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge – with its own 5.5-inch display from corner to corner.

That'd be strange. If it did exist, it'd essentially be the size and shape of the Galaxy Note 6, but turned around backward.

• RAM: 6GB RAM

• Camera: 12MP back-facing camera – 4K video recording abilities

There's also the possibility of a Galaxy Note Edge 2 – with a different name, of course. The first time we saw a production-level curved display from Samsung, it came in the form of a Galaxy Note Edge.

That was one edge curved down the side of the smartphone – on the right – while the left retained its normal shape.

Was that device just an indicator of where things were about to go, or was it just a teaser for what we'll see later this year?

Word from the folks at GSM Help Desk suggests that Samsung might be considering multiple models, but will only land on one. What a mild shame from the company once known for making so many tablets that they ran out of names to call them.

Or perhaps it's smart.

One device – one vision.

A sign that Samsung is concentrating all their efforts on a device that's meant to retain its spot in the market as the greatest large smartphone – in that category which it essentially carved out itself.
