Galaxy Android Marshmallow updates coming this month

On of the most popular families of Android smartphones – Samsung's Galaxy collection – will be seeing additional update to Android Marshmallow this month. This includes both the Samsung Galaxy S7 – if, by some miracle, you weren't on Marshmallow already – as well as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The Samsung Galaxy S6 is also getting final upgrades to Marshmallow this month if you've not already seen updates in the past couple of weeks.

According to SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is getting its second update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow this week in South Korea. If you do not live in South Korea, do not fret – you won't be left out in the cold. Previous reports suggest that the Galaxy Note 5 will be getting Marshmallow throughout Europe and the United States as well – not to mention Canada.

When? We wouldn't be surprised to see the big ol' M on the Galaxy Note 5 within the next few weeks, carrier dependent. If you've got a Verizon Galaxy Note 5, you'll find the Marshmallow update available for you already.

Carriers of the Galaxy Note 5 that'll reportedly be getting an update out to users within the next few weeks include AT&T (in the USA), T-Mobile USA, and (for Canada) Rogers, Bell, and Telus. If you've got a Galaxy Note 5 on Telus or Bell you might already have an update coming your way before the end of next week.

WAIT, WHAT: Galaxy S4 Marshmallow update? Madness!

And what about our good friend, the Galaxy Note 4? No word yet from AT&T or Verizon. T-Mobile USA has had a tipped release in the works for several weeks – at least – but haven't given any updates any time recently.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge has seen a Wi-fi certification upgrade to Android 6.0 this week – which means we'll be seeing some Marshmallow action on that device inside the United States sooner than later.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 has also appeared in the Wi-Fi alliance listings for Wi-Fi testing with Android 6.0 onboard. Expect the upgrade to come your way – carrier dependent – very soon.
