Galaxy A9 Star Pro's four cameras will look like this

Samsung once said it's no longer obsessed with rushing to be first in the market, though that may have only been a fleeting thought. It also said it will be putting its innovations in its mid-range phones first and it seems to be dead serious about that. It has already revealed the Galaxy A7 (2018) with what is Samsung's first triple camera system. But perhaps trying to outdo and outrun Huawei, Samsung is set to reveal the Galaxy A9 Star Pro with a ridiculous four-camera setup instead. All About Samsung posted a concept render of what Samsung may have in mind when it says that its October even with will have "4x fun". Some might have other definitions of fun. Given the design it adopted for the Galaxy A7 (2018), those four cameras will be a long strip down the side.

Galaxy A7's three cameras might not have been all that, considering mixed specs as far as sensors go. Noticeably lacking was any telephoto option. And that is exactly what the Galaxy A9 Star/Pro will supposedly add to the mix. Specifically, the four cameras are expected to have these specs:

• 8 MP wide-angle camera with 120 ° FOV

• 24 MP main camera

• 10 MP zoom camera

• 5 MP zoom camera

In almost all other aspects, the Galaxy A9 could very well pass for the Galaxy A7+. The front camera remains the same at 24 megapixel f/2.0, for one. It is also believed to sport a larger 6.28-inch screen with the same Full HD+ Infinity Display resolution. It will also run on the semi-latest mid-range Snapdragon 660 processor.

It remains to be seen how much those four cameras will drive up the price of its mid-range line or, more importantly, if it will appeal to its intended audience. Presuming they can afford it in the first place. Samsung's new-found commitment to push innovation to lower tiers first might actually be a strategy to test if the market will actually be receptive to these experimental features.
