Fortnite x Batman crossover event teased for imminent release

Throughout its history, Fortnite has been host to a number of different crossover events. A few of these crossovers have been with Marvel properties, to promote the releases of films like Avengers: Infinity War and its follow-up, Avengers: Endgame. For the next crossover, however, Epic will be teaming up with Marvel competitor DC Comics, and the subject of the event will be none other than Batman.

So far, Epic hasn't said much about the new crossover aside from scheduling a YouTube livestream that's set to premiere tomorrow morning at 8 AM ET. It's then that we'll find out what this event entails, but we can look to previous crossovers to get an idea of what to expect.

In the Avengers: Infinity War crossover, for instance, players were given the chance to play as Thanos in a special game mode that had everyone hunting down the Infinity Gauntlet. The more recent Borderlands 3 crossover, on the other hand, added a special place of interest themed around Pandora to Fortnite's map and offered Borderlands 3-themed skins and items through the in-game shop.

While it's hard to know what this Batman event will offer, we'll probably see something similar. Perhaps we'll get a new game mode, or maybe a new place to visit on the map? Being able to visit the Batcave in during a battle royale match would be pretty neat. Regardless of what the event offers in terms of content, there will definitely be new cosmetics to buy, and that's something we can be sure of.

Judging from the thumbnail on the YouTube livestream, this event could specifically involve Batman: The Animated Series from the 1990s, though again, it's hard to make that call before Epic dishes more details. We'll find out more tomorrow, September 21st. In the meantime, you can follow the link in the YouTube stream's description to link your Epic and Google accounts to get a "free in-game reward" for watching tomorrow's livestream.
