Fortnite Playground mode returns this week with loot boost

Epic Games removed the Playground LTM option from Fortnite: Battle Royale earlier this month to address some issues and make some important changes. The company confirmed that it would bring Playground mode back to the game in the future as a permanent option, and it isn't making fans wait long. Epic says it'll return Playground on July 25 with some big tweaks.

On Wednesday, a Fortnite update will bring Playground back, the company announced in a tweet. The updated version brings some changes players requested, including more loot to help squads get right into the action. The vehicle added to the game with Season 5 will also be available in Playground, as well as improved squad selection options.

We don't know all the changes coming in the new Playground mode, but Epic says it will have all the details in the Fortnite v5.10 patch notes.

Playground mode, for those who missed it the first time, is a new game mode that gives players access to the Fortnite BR island without enemies. Players can enter the map alone, with their own friends, or with random squads. Wood, metal, and brick resources can be farmed at much higher volumes than in a different game mode, and Epic promises increases to loot when the mode returns.

The original Playground Limited Time Mode restricted players to a single hour on the island before the storm moved in and killed them. Epic doesn't state whether that time limitation remains in the new Playground offering, but many players have requested longer durations to enable more elaborate buildings and other activities.
