Fortnite iOS update arrives with big performance improvements

Earlier today, Epic Games announced an update for PC, Mac, and Android versions of Fortnite, but the iOS edition was conspicuously absent. The company explained that the iOS patch would be available at a later time because the team was still working on it. Fortunately, the wait time was very short at only a few hours.

This afternoon, Epic announced the PC, Mac, and Android updates on its Twitter account, where it explained that users wouldn't experience any downtime but that they may have to restart the game for the update to install.

Assuming you're on one of these platforms and the game hasn't updated, you should restart it to get the latest update. All three updates bring performance improvements, and a similar update for iOS was released about three hours after the initial batch.

On its Fortnite Twitter account, Epic said the iOS update "addresses many performance issues," a sentiment it also shared on the FortniteBR subreddit where the company said, "We've just released an update for iOS that contains many performance improvements."

Anyone who plays Fortnite on the iPhone and/or iPad should install the update to (hopefully) fix the various performance issues iOS players have been complaining about. Epic doesn't go into detail about specific issues that were fixed, promising only that "many" problems have been addressed.
