Ford recalls 100k cars over axle issue and more

Ford has recalled 100,610 of its vehicles spread across six different recalls, all of which were revealed yesterday. No accidents are known to have resulted from the issues, fortunately. Most of the recalled vehicles span model years 2012 through 2014.

The recalls primarily concern the Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, Police Interceptor, Flex, Lincoln MKT, Edge, and Lincoln MKX. All vehicles could have issues with the an improperly seated halfshaft on the right side, and with potentially rolling when the parking brake isn't engaged.

The above models represent a total of 92,022 of the recalled vehicles, but lesser numbers of other cars have also been recalled for other reasons. A total of 5,264 F59s from 2011 to 2014 have been recalled over corrosion issues, and 2,124 2014 Ford Escapes have been recalled over possible leaky glass roofs.

In much lesser numbers, the F53 motor home (2014) has been recalled over a possible issue with braking, the 2014 Transit Connect has been recalled over labeling issues, and the 2014 Ford Fiesta over possible gas leakage and fire risk.
