Ford offers Super Duty Tremor buyers a winch option

When it comes to off-roading, there are often times when you need a little extra help to get out of mud or over obstacles. For times like that, a winch is handy. Ford has announced that it will be offering a factory-installed or after purchase winch option for the 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor package pickup. The new winch option is called the Ford Performance Parts winch by Warn, and it has 12,000 pounds of winching power. The winch is available for both gas and diesel-powered Tremor package trucks. The winch was developed in cooperation with Warn and is designed specifically to meet Built Ford Tough standards, says the automaker.

The winch was built with crash safety and capability in mind and is fully integrated with mounting behind the steel bumper of the truck. The design of the mounting allows optimized airflow and clearance regardless of engine choice. Ford says that the winch uses high-tensile strength, abrasion-resistant synthetic cable.

The winch offers Ford owners the only wireless remote control in its class and has a provision for a wired remote. The winch isn't a cheap option with pricing set at $3,000 with availability in mid-2020. That price tag makes the winch much more expensive than aftermarket units.

The Ford Super Duty Tremor package was announced last summer. It's offered on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum F-250 and F-350 trucks. It can be had with the all-new 7.3-liter Godzilla gas V8 or the 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel. The Super Duty trucks have a max towing of 15,000 pounds with conventional trailers and up to 21,900 pounds for gooseneck with the available diesel engine.
