First 9 Megapixel AutoFocus Camera Module For Mobile Phone
I am not much for mobile camera but I reckon they have come a long way since I reviewed the 5MP Samsung G800 thanks to the rapidly growth of compact size digital camera module to increase image quality and pixel count. Digital Image Sensor has announced an unprecedented 9 megapixel Auto Focus camera modules DIS6931 for mobile phone with improved shutter lag, better Autofocus, high quality optics and supports up to HD 720P motion pictures at Photokina.
Besides pixel increment, the camera modules' autofocus and shutter lag is less than 300ms and 200ms, which enables image capture of fast moving objects such as sports events for mobile phones. The new DIS6931 camera module has a unique platform that allows existing customers to upgrade their DIS cameras without hardware change in the host to trim down software integration time.
Pre-production units are available now and expected to deliver in the end of 2008.
