Fireworks from a drone's perspective

A video posted well before this year's 4th of July, but excellent nonetheless, shows what it's like to be flying amongst fireworks as they're fired. What you're seeing here is the drone known as DJI Phantom 2, and the camera is the GoPro Hero 3 silver.

Believe it or not, throughout the drone's flight, no damage was recorded. The drone itself was not damaged, regardless of how close several calls were in the process. While he very well could have gotten in loads of trouble for floating above a public arena where controlled explosives were being fired, Jos Stinglingh also sustained no damage to his record.

The DJI Phantom 2 Vision is the model this flight rolled with, while the newest version, the Vision+, works with solo flight abilities. This newest version works with integrated Ground Station functionality, allowing you to direct its path before you let it fly. This device also works with smartphones running iOS or Android, as it is with the original.

The GoPro Hero 3 Silver was launched in 2012 alongside the Black. This device is capable of recording 4K video at 12fps. This video was captured in 1080p at 30fps.
