Firefox OS tablet specs detailed, offers quad-core processor

The first tablet running Mozilla's Firefox OS has had its specifications dropped by the company's Asa Dotzler over on his blog. Among them we get a look at the tablet itself running a Firefox OS build, and though there's still no word on when the tablet will hit shelves or what price range it'll be targeting, it seems things are shaping up nicely.

Mozilla received its first batch of tablet from maker Foxconn earlier this week, and though it provided a picture (the same featured above and on Dotzler's blog), no specifications were provided at the time. As of last night, that changed, and in the details we find the slate features a 10.1-inch IPS capacitive multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800.

The tablet itself is an InFocus New tab F1 with WiFi, and under the hood it runs an A31 quad-core 1GHz Cortex A7 processor, as well as a PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. This accompanies 2GB of memory, as well as 16GB of internal storage space — not fantastically high, but enough to meet many users' needs and complemented by a microSD expansion slot.

Beyond this, the tablet features a 2-megapixel front camera and a 5-megapixel rear camera, as well as a micro USB slot and headphones port. There's Bluetooth in addition to the WiFi, and both a gyroscope and GPS. The battery has a 7000mAh capacity.
