Finis Swimsense is the swimmers version of Nike Plus

If you like to swim Finis has a new gadget that will land in time for Christmas that you will find interesting. The device reminds me of a Nike Plus system for swimmers in that it can track all manner of information about your swimming workout. It won't turn you into Michael Phelps, but it will help you track your workouts and other details.

The device is called the Swimsense and will sell for $199.99 when it lands. The device allows the swimmer to set goals with an online training log. The device looks like a watch and is worn on the wrist while you swim. It uses motion sensing technology to track things like the number of laps swam, total distance, calories burned, lap time, pace, and the stroke count.

Finis says that this is the only device of its type that can tell the difference in the stroke you are using. It can tell if you are using the backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, or freestyle. The Swimsense is also updatable with apps and software updates that can be downloaded.
