FCC outs new PS3 models with scant details

I have a bit of a love hate thing going with the FCC. I love the fact that our beloved government at work often leaks little tidbits on new products ahead of the actual launch. At the same time, I hate that when I see a product turn up first on the FCC there are so few details there isn't much to learn leaving me wanting more info.

Such has happened today when the FCC has detailed a few new PS3 models that we will hopefully hear more about at E3 set to kick off in only a few days. All we really know thanks to the PS3 listings is that there are two new models with model numbers CECH-2501A and CECH-2501B. The FCC thankfully points out the only diff between the two are the HDD size.

The listing also shows that there are two new debugging PS3s coming as well with part numbers DECH-2500A and DECH-S2500A with the difference being cosmetic says the FCC. As Engadget points out, new debug units are usually only seen when the hardware inside the PS3 changes. I guess we will have to wait and see in a few days what turns up. I almost bought a new PS3 for my upstairs game room yesterday, I am glad I didn't now.
