Fallout Beer may be the strangest Fallout 4 tie-in yet

When you think of Fallout, there are a few things that come to mind. Pip-boys, super mutants, bottle caps, and of course, Nuka-cola. What you probably don't think of is beer. After all, the only stuff you can find in-game is pretty generic, and only gives you a meager boost to strength and charisma, while dropping your intelligence. In the real world, however, there's finally an alcoholic beverage worthy of a Wasteland wanderer.

Bethesda has teamed up with Carlsberg UK to create a "light coloured pilsner lager, with a refreshing zesty hoppy taste and a floral aroma." With so many names to choose from, we can only wonder how they came up with "Fallout Beer" for this Wasteland tie-in product. The beer in Fallout was called "Gamma Gulp" for a couple of games, which would have been a nice throwback. But I guess it's better than just calling it "beer" as they have in the last couple of games.

"This is something of a world-first," said Bruce Ray, Carlsberg UK's corporate affairs director in a release this week. "Adult participation in video gaming is a truly social activity, on a par with cinema and music. We're proud to work with Bethesda to produce a beer Fallout fans can enjoy."

Fallout Beer appears to only be available in the UK, and you can pick it up on Amazon for £29.99 per case of 12. It seems a little pricey, but I suppose the game tie-in adds a little value. Personally, I'd pay that for a case of something more iconic, such as Nuka-Cola, or even Sunset Sarsaparilla. But not for a pretty generic beer.

You can pre-order your case now, but it doesn't officially go on sale until November 5th. It should ship out in time to be on your doorstep for the release of Fallout 4. Just remember to save your bottle caps, they'll be worth a lot someday.
