Early Adopters Of Canon EOS-1D Mark III Should Soon Be Able To Get Their Cameras Fixed
Wow, you think you iPhone early adopters had a reason to complain? Think again, try buying a $4500 DSLR that comes with a screwed up focus.
Well, the good news is, they finally fixed it, and you can now call 800-828-4040 and give the kind people on the other end your serial number and then as soon as they get the parts in they'll call you so you can get your camera fixed, presumably for free. The parts should be in soon, possibly within the next two weeks.
In case you didn't know what the problem is, maybe because you haven't shopped for a $4500 digital camera in about... ever, the problem was that the auto focus decided it didn't like to work in bright sunlight. Sure, if you'd bought a cheap point and shoot, for likely under a couple hundred bucks and it had this problem, you would have chalked it up to buying a cheap camera, you pay $4500 for a professional DSLR you had better damn near be able to use it anywhere including right on the sun, not really, but some sunlight had better not mess up a major feature of the camera, anyways, its fixable now, so make the call.
