Dragalia Lost, Nintendo's latest mobile game, is now available

Despite the fact that Nintendo's main area of focus is turning the Switch into a long-lasting success, the company is still chugging along with its mobile strategy. Today is a pretty big day for those mobile efforts, as Nintendo is launching Dragalia Lost on iOS and Android. Dragalia Lost was first revealed earlier this year, and it's notable for being the first new IP Nintendo has developed specifically for mobile devices.

Up until now, Nintendo's mobile efforts have been focused on its existing properties. We've seen mobile titles themed around Pokemon, Super Mario, Fire Emblem, and Animal Crossing so far, so Dragalia Lost is something of a risky launch for Nintendo. Perhaps that's why it isn't doing the heavy lifting alone, as Dragalia Lost is the product of a team up between it and veteran mobile developer Cygames.

Dragalia Lost is billed as an action RPG that features hero summoning elements we've seen in a number of other successful mobile titles, particularly Nintendo's own Fire Emblem Heroes. Dragalia Lost is a free-to-play title, though obviously Nintendo will rely on in-app purchases to make its money. The game was detailed in-depth last month during a Nintendo Direct dedicated entirely to explaining the game's narrative, mechanics, and some of the heroes players will encounter.

In a post to the official Dragalia Lost website, Nintendo details the game's celebratory launch event. Those who log into the game seven days in a row will receive bonus Wyrmite – in-game currency that's used to summon heroes – each day. There's also Jumpstart Endeavors for new players to complete; though you'll get rewards for completing each individual endeavor, completing them all will net you a Tenfold Summon Voucher, which you can use to summon more heroes.

The log-in bonus will be available until October 31, but you only have 14 days to complete all of the Jumpstart Endeavors after logging in for the first time. If you want to check out the game for yourself, you can download it today from the Google Play Store [download] and the iOS App Store [download].
