Dodge unveils 2014 Journey packing V6 power and AWD

Dodge has announced its new 2014 Journey crossover. The new Journey can be outfitted to seat up to seven people. For 2014 Dodge has reduced the entry-level price for an AWD version for the Journey by $1800. The AWD drive system in the vehicle is an on-demand system that promises better traction and more safety in all driving conditions.

For 2014 a Journey SE with the Pentastar 3.6L V6 engine and AWD will start at $24,489 not counting the $995 destination charge. The SE V6 AWD Journey has 17-inch wheels, disc brakes all around with ABS and stability control. The vehicle is also fitted with seven airbags and has a 4.3-inch touchscreen with Uconnect media Center.

Dodge also equips the vehicle with keyless enter and go and push button start. Other features include power windows, power locks, heated mirrors, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, sunscreen glass, roof rails, and LED taillights.

The V6 engine under the hood generates 283hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The AWD version of the Journey gets 24mpg on the highway and the FWD version gets 25mpg on the highway. That's not exactly highly fuel efficient by today's standards, but the fuel economy isn't that bad for a V6 with seven-passenger capacity.
