DIY Iron Man-Like Arm Mounted Light Weapon Brings the Movies to Life

No, you aren't going to be able to blow away angry robots with this thing, but you will be able to give your friends, or your enemies, a nice blinding light in the face. And hey, beggar's can't be choosers. But, even if you don't intend to make this your next weapon against the despicable enemies out there, and you've got some time on your hands, at least you can start a project that will make you almost as cool as Tony Stark. Almost.

The designer, Chein, definitely takes the cake today for making something we instantly want. Just looking at it makes us wish we had the time in our own schedule to make this thing happen. And then when you get into the gist of things, like the fact it has a ring of LEDs within the lamp in the palm of your hand, it just gets better. But, that's not all! You also get a Xenon bulb at the center. When you hook all of that up to a flash capacitor and a charge circuit from a disposable camera (you have one of those lying around, right?), the voltage within this DIY arm-mounted fake weapon reaches upwards of 330 volts. Basically, that means you'll get a light that's intense enough to momentarily "blind" someone.

Sure, there are a bunch of do it yourself things out there, but this one is by far the coolest of the week. Then again, it's only Monday, so maybe we'll see something more noteworthy make an appearance in a matter of days. For now though, we'll stare at this and want one for ourselves, and maybe try to find a disposable camera.
