Disney's latest deal will keep ESPN on Sony's PlayStation Vue service

Disney has expanded upon its previous deal with Sony, ensuring its ESPN networks, as well as National Geographic and more, will remain available on the OTT television service PlayStation Vue. Sports fans can expect continued access to a number of networks, including SEC Network, ESPN, ESPN College Extra, ACC Network, and much more. Disney refers to this as a 'comprehensive distribution agreement.'

PlayStation Vue is an over-the-top streaming service that offers live television over the Internet rather than through traditional cable or satellite offerings. PS Vue was one of the first OTT services to launch in the US, joining competitors like Sling TV in offering a cloud-based alternative for cord-cutters in need of something more robust than on-demand platforms.

Subscribers can expect to enjoy Disney-owned networks over coming months under this newly announced multi-year deal between Sony and the Walt Disney Company. PS Vue will continue to offer the following channels under this arrangement:

- ABC

- Disney Channel

- Disney Junior

- Disney XD

- Freeform

- ESPN / ESPN2 / ESPN3 / ESPNU

- ESPNEWS / ESPN Deportes / ESPN College Extra / ESPN Goal Line / ESPN Bases Loaded

- SEC Network / ACC Network / Longhorn Network

- FX / FXX / FXM / Fox Life

- National Geographic / Nat Geo Wild / Nat Geo Mundo

- BabyTV

- ABC News Live

Disney Media Distribution SVP Sean Breen said:

PlayStation Vue delivers a television viewing experience through a seamless user interface that focuses on personalization, and that is an attractive offering as consumers navigate their video option. We look forward to continue serving subscribers the full value of our content from Walt Disney Television and ESPN, which now includes the FX and National Geographic networks and the newly launched ACC Network.
