Desk made with CPUs only hardcore geeks need apply

When Matt Tovey found himself with hundreds of discdared Itanium CPUs he was left with a decision. Toss them out or find a cool way to use them and of course as you can see he definitely found a way to use all those CPUs.

After an upgrade to a supercomputer hundreds of CPUs were sent to scrap. Matt decided to use them to make his desk look a little cooler. He used 434 CPUs on the top of his desk. He took each CPU and stripped it of its power-pod and heatsink then polished up the metal cover to give them the look you see here.

Between the CPUs and the 30kg glass his desk was going to get weighed down pretty heavily. He then added supports to his desk to keep it from bowing. Check out his site to read through the step by step details of the desk.
