Dell launches OptiPlex 780 USFF and SFF OptiPlex 380 PCs

The traditional big desktop is still around and is alive and kicking especially in markets like gaming computers and high-end workstations. Lots of other categories are increasingly dominated by notebooks. Small form factor desktops are still popular and Dell has announced two new SFF models for its OptiPlex series.

The new desktops include the OptiPlex 780 dubbed an ultra small form factor computer. The machine has an integrated power supply and uses Intel vPro technology. The machine has lots of CPU, graphics and hard drive options and uses the latest Core 2 Duo processors. Available operating systems include Ubuntu, Windows 7, Vista, and XP. The machine starts at $629.

The OptiPlex 380 is a larger SFF machine that also has customizable hardware and uses Core 2 Duo CPUs. Linux, Windows 7, Vista, and XP are all available. The chassis uses no tools and the machine has DirectDetect LED diagnostic lights. This line comes in minitower, desktop, and SFF form factors with pricing starting at $329.
